If your watering can is destroyed, a new one (a basic one from what I understand) will be mailed to you the following day.
There are apparently Lost-&-Found boxes in the Mayor's house and in the Adventurer's Guild now, so check both those spots.
If all of those fail, then it's in a chest SOMEwhere.
You wouldn't even need to get the original and upgrade it - you could go straight to iridium.
once installed/working on your save file. When you are in game doesn't matter where in game for example you could be in your farmhouse after waking up - press "i" to bring up the spawner menu click in the search bar near top right and type in what you want to spawn, then click on that item/tools icon, hey presto new watering can - just make sure you have room in your bag/inventory first - you may have to manually place it there.
It works on both SDV 1.5+ and SVE latest update and is compatible with most other mods.
if you are still struggling, have you checked the trouble shooting/mod compatibility guides on the community wiki? They are really useful for issues like this.

Also, check smapi and nexus sites for updates, patches & general mod fixes.
If they don't work, i'd suggest delete your game save, and start again from scratch, clear your mods and re-download/extract them to your mods folder before starting a new save - a pain but worth it if it's been corrupted beyond repair.
Just make sure when downloading Item spawner / other useful mod/s (I suggest using nexus - there are links on the community site) you check for any other "required mods" to ensure the one you want to use actually works. I had trouble when I first started using mods because i skipped a "Core mod".
You cannot really go wrong if you have the following:
Smapi
Content Patcher
Content Patcher Animations
Mod Updater
JsonAssets
Space Core
PyTK
TMX Loader
Image Ed
and any relevant framework mods downloaded and extracted to your mods folder as a foundation for any other mods you may want.
