Can't find Fire Quartz

Did they change how you get fire quartz? I've been going through the levels 80 - 120 of the mines multiple times now, got about 4 diamonds and NO fire quartz, it's been a while since I last played the game, did they change that? I don't remember it being that rare :(

Saw them as objects you could directly pick up in those areas, strange that there were none in your game.

The strangest part is that I see lots of normal quartz but no fire quartz

Pop down to 80 and exit until one shows up. They also come from magma and omni geodes, and very occasionally in fishing chests. You don't have to break rocks for them.

Definitely available on floor 100+, had one last night while working to finish the community centre, only took a few floors to find it, hanging around on the floor like regular quartz.

They still spawn randomly on the floor of the last 40 levels of the Mines. I get lots and lots of them.

It took me awhile to find them on my last file as well. You must be similarly unlucky. They started turning up eventually

I was looking for that item specifically, so what I did was simply load into floor 100, check, then exit and do it again to re-generate the map layout. Took a few tries until one showed up.
