does anyone else here like clint

im curious because most people seem to hate him

i like him because he's pathetic and he likes rocks and says stupid ♥♥♥♥ like "did you know amethyst is just purple quartz" (thanks clint that's incredible.) he's usually the first character i get to ten hearts

That's a really good idea! They're both moping around the saloon. Maybe they can start talking over a beer. They don't have much in common, but they do both enjoy the movie "It Howls in the Rain", and they both kind of hate wild forages. Maybe they could talk about cool horror flicks, and how dumb it is to wander around in the forest picking up weeds.

I think Clint and Penny would make a good couple.
They both are modest and unpretentious, and don't reach for the stars. Both work hard in their own way, they are reliably doing their job even when it's not much fun. The simple fact that they won't have to handle all of their business all on their own, knowing there is someone thinking of them, someone sincere and reliable that won't let them down... would probably warm their hearts.
I'm sure if they only gave each other a chance, they could grow old together much like george and evelyn, sharing a love that maybe won't look overly romantic from the outside. But familiarity and friendship, grown on a solid basis, could give them peace of the soul for the rest of their lives.

I do think he and some of the other characters should have been rewritten with the marriage poll. Same with shane, it was hard to morph his stand alone character arc into one that fit the new narrative. I think clint in current stardew sticks out like a sore thumb because he just doesn't belong. You weren't supposed to marry Emily, it was supposed to be an awkward pining situation. I still think sandy would have been the better choice as far as the story goes.
