i like him because he's pathetic and he likes rocks and says stupid ♥♥♥♥ like "did you know amethyst is just purple quartz" (thanks clint that's incredible.) he's usually the first character i get to ten hearts

he is awkward, but i don't really mind him. it seems that most hatred comes from his heart events and quests not being altered after the update that turned emily and shane into bachelors, sometimes resulting in him asking you to gift your wife an amethyst on his behalf to try to woo her (could've changed the text to him needing you to deliver her the gem for whatever reason and tweaking her lines accordingly or something, but that didn't happen), and i sometimes wonder if people's opinions on clint and emily would be the same if their genders were reversed.

I feel sorry for Clint. I kind of wish there was a "matchmaker" mod in which the player could help couples get married if the player doesn't marry them themselves. I'd try to get Emily and Clint together. And, of course, Marne and Lewis. Get hitched already, you two!

Clint was so nervous around Emily, and I tried to encourage him, but then I went and purposed to Emily right in front him, and although he congratulated me on my marriage I could tell he was disappointed.

Well I don't hate him.

Clint is introvert, shy and doesn't stand out much. This makes him and other guys like him pathetic and awkward to many. But he is obviously supposed to be one of those guys who are stuck in their shell and needs a little help coming out of it. He breaks the whole notion that every guy has to be alpha and throw themselves at everything they find attractive - which is really the only pathetic thing (that particular notion) if you ask me

Robin takes a break during festival day. However Clint will continue working as long as the upgrade request was issued on yesterday, which is why I like him. Especially when I am doing min max run.

He also takes Amethyst, one less annoying villagers for gifting. Extra Bar from mail is always nice.

honestly the responses here really surprised me, i was half expecting to get lectured about why clint is an evil creep or whatever for being awkward around emily

i've seen the word "incel" get thrown around a lot when it comes to clint and i kind of get it to an extent, he has that line where he insists he's a nice guy and is overall just an awkward/shy person but i never got the impression that he hated women or resented emily for not being with him. the only person he really seems to hate is himself

Some of his dialogue does come off as quite creepy.
But no, I don't hate him.

Though I do have to admit, that lately I've been using a few mods that change his character a fair bit.

The only thing I don't like about him is Fridays post-CC.

as for him creepin on emily even after you romance her well its just a game so it doesnt bother me

I'm just sorry Clint doesn't have a character growth arc where he could eventually at least find something to be happy about. Whether or not he ever could win Emily's heart I just feel sad that he doesn't appear to have any joy in anything else.

He and Emily share a love for colorful gems. I wish they could have a moment where they both realize that, and it gives them something to talk about.

And for no particular reason, Clint is said to love artichoke dip. It would be great if there were a scene where you gift him that, and he maybe invites you to share it with him in a friendly picnic on the beach, and you just talk about how life is full of nice things to enjoy, and how you have to find the good in things around you and savor the little things. And it would end with no romance, but just a sense of gratitude. Then after that maybe he could begin to have more positive dialogue, with less complaining and doom, and more interest shown in other people and their joy.

i feel the same way, i think his heart events should've been more focused on helping him be more confident on his own as opposed to trying to help him get with emily
