floor 120 in the mines

hey I've been playing stardew valley for a long time and i want to know what is the best way to get to floor 120 in the mines

genuinely a very difficult task, I have well over 300 hours in the game and have only managed it with out mods by "cheating" and crafting alot of staircases....

Remember that you can unlock the elevator straight to that floor ever 5 floors you venture down. If time is about to run short for the day, you can always come back to where you were the next day so you're not required to do it all in one go. Head down the ladder as soon as it appears to save time. Defeated enemies sometimes cause ladders to appear as well.

Those are just some of my tips for reaching the bottom of the mines; hopefully you find them useful.

I think I beat it the fun way by creating black bombs and mega bombs. Bomb the hell around floor 100 to 120.

Otherwise, just mine. Ladder comes out naturally.

If you're just going down to 120 for the first time, take your time, use the checkpoints in the elevator, and build up your gear as you go. Your gear is going to be the biggest limit on your progression. You'll need better shoes, rings, and weapon, and you'll need to upgrade your pickax. You'll get there once you've passed the gear checks and there's no need to rush.

If you're doing the quest that requires you to go from floor 1 to 120 in a week, but it's "hard mode" so the monsters are more difficult, that one's trickier. It's very doable in 5 days without any staircases. Use bombs to find the ladders down and don't waste time fighting or mining once you see a ladder. The goal is to progress, not to farm. The reward is the quest reward at the end, not a few gold nuggets.

A few hints:

• Bring bombs. I typically bring 50 each of the regular and the mega ones for a single day's work. Others work faster than me and bring even more than that.
  
• Bring speed food and drink. Triple shot espresso and anything that boosts your speed like crab cakes, spicy eel, or similar will allow you to get around the maps faster. You can use 1 food and one drink, so 2 bonuses to speed at the same time
  
• Bring enough healing. There are a couple of ways to do this. Eating food with no passive bonuses (like a chocolate cake) won't reset your food bonuses. Life potions work. There's a trinket that spawns a follower that heals you (the fairy box, max level 5 ). And you can get weapons and rings that have "Vampiric" enchantments (purple text) that leech life when you attack. Find a solution that gives you enough for the way you play.
  
• Use the checkpoints. The quest resets the elevator, but as you go, you get those checkpoints back every 5 levels. Start as far down as you can, then go to the nearest 5th level. If it's 11PM, you're probably not going to get from 80 to 85, for example, so save your progress, mine what you can, and make sure you make it home without dying, then come back the next day.
  
• Check the fortune teller on the TV. On bad luck days, the game is terrible about spawning staircases, so you'll want to bring your own. On good luck days, they'll be easy to find with bombs alone.

only go on days with good luck(good or best- check the fortune teller) lest go fishing. Dont underestimate staircases and go at a decent time. I try to go at least before 4pm so I can get to the next elevator shaft. Be sure to upgrade your pickaxe! helped me a bunch in getting through the lower levels on top of having a decent food source (typically for me whatever foraging bushes are in season or field snacks) bombs are also pretty decent in clearing out big areas.

I guess some would argue that bombs and stairs are good. But the regular mine is not that hard if you have a sword that is up to date. When you know how a particular enemy behaves you can kill it without taking any damage. When you go to skull on the other hand, bring bombs.
