Farming and fish pond only run

I'm going to do a run focusing only on farming and the fish ponds. I will go the JoJo route so there's no issue with fulfilling the community center. I'll take my time and do it slow. I'll make jellies and jams and caviar for revenue. No chickens, no cows, so no coops or barns. A ton of crops and a ton of fish ponds. See how it goes.

Some fish need mayo for their pond expansion quests. If you're lucky, you can pick up eggs or mayo directly from the Traveling Cart to fulfill the quests.

Hmm... yeah, some fish do require odd things to level up the ponds.

I tend to like Fish Ponds a lot. Generally speaking, they're great passive income (once they're set up and matured).

with the 1.6 fish ponds can take animal crackers,

thinking, fishing and farming 'only'? will you be foraging? mining? what not? just wondering if you are going to get all skills to 10.

obviously cooking will be an issue. but money should not be. just shove legendary fish in fish ponds nad use golden crackers on them and sell the roe, should be plenty of money especially after you get ginger island and they start giving you extended family quests.

I’m still going to forage and mine since I want to upgrade tools and get quality sprinklers. I’m in summer 1 and have one fish pond with a sturgeon in it. I have 6 preserves jars. Purchased the 15k mine cart from jojo. Have a couple of ancient fruits and star fruits just waiting on the seed maker with the next purchas me the greenhouse. I’ve always done runs with kegs everywhere so going a different route. I will get to 10 in everything but no rush.

not really the biggest fan of sturgeon. the lava eel drop stuff like spicy eel and magma geodes. I made 5 fish ponds of those.
blob fish are also good.

semi inspired me to do a run, fishing 'only' beach farm, main income crab pots and fish ponds, obviously you have the 100 or so farming tiles + the greenhouse + ginger island eventually, but the FUNDS should come from the fish ponds and crab pots.

simple run, speed blitz perfection thru funds. Mass machines for sale can only be recyclers and perserve jars.

BTW Jason, what farm map did you choose to do your run on?

I went with the standard layout. Plan on doing the right side all crops and the left side all ponds

Don't forget about the Ice Pip beside their roe which has the same price as the Blobfish's, they can give you some valuable resources like Iron ore and Diamonds.
I'd like ask have you caught any legendary fishes yet?

Right now I only have one fish pond. Still in Summer 1. I haven't gotten to level 100 of the mines yet but plan on having lava eel ponds, cucumber for the lunches, cucumber for the purple aesthetic. Plan on about 30+ ponds with various fish. I'm still level 8 fishing.....taking my time.

I'm not personally doing this run yet. was finishing up a 25 profit margin run. normally I get around to legendary fishing in the fall on a run, but this run is ....forgoing all the early game farming and tool upgrades in favor of fishing so god knows if they catch legendary fish earlier. i'd shoot for lava eels first unless you get lucky with rain in year 1, just work on crab pots and lava eel fish ponds.

but I have not attempted such a run yet myself.

Update- only in fall 1. The only thing I’ve purchased from jojo so far is the mine cart. Invested in preserve jars and now have 3 fish ponds. 1 sturgeon, 1 larval eel and 1 ice pip. Have 12 quality sprinklers for crops and saving money for the greenhouse

how are you getting through the mines? are you using staircases or just mining
