Are quests repeatable?

There was a bug with the quest “Curious Substance”. Ectoplasm does not drop ( quest is active).
Will this quest appear again?

Ectoplasm is a very rare drop, so don't be too surprised if you don't end up finding any throughout the entire period of time the quest is active.
And yes, the quest will appear again, but only if the quest has not been completed yet.

Yeah well, Stardew Valley Wiki also says that a prismatic shard is a 0.05% drop from ghosts and yet here I am with two prismatic shards from this quest and 0 ectoplasms.

Go to the mines first thing in the morning, enter-and-exit a floor with good chances to get the mobs, keep doing that until a time you know you can. Got the Ectoplasm = go to the farm to take care of the things. Not got = close the game without saving, rince and repeat.

I got it on my first attempt on floor 63 I think. was like oh, that was easy, did 1.6 increase it because I recalled it being ....problematic in 1.5 and required several attempts

the quest is made that you work you way through several levels of the mine, to find some ghosts, and because you can find several ghosts it seems CA thought it was a good idea to make the drop not 100%, what in worst case ends in several days of mine visists until you get the drop (or rng trolls you to death and you dont get the drop at all) . was ever that way since this quests where implemented.

My current plan is just to do the prismatic jelly first because the monster musk makes this much easier
