It is in a shape of a Tomato, you can find that info in the library/museum.

According to the Book of Yoba, the world of Stardew Valley takes place inside of a fruit that grew from a vine in the vastness of space. :celeste_strawberry:

It has day and night, which indicates the world is somewhat spherical. There are also 4 seasons of 28 days each, indicating an elongated orbit around its star of 112 days. However, without knowing the mass of the planet or the star it is somewhat hard to fully understand the characteristics of the actual planet itself.

I am actually beginning to suspect that Concerned Ape didn't really put much though into how the Valley fits into the planet and how the planet fits into its corner of space. It is very disappointing to see this lack of detail. Game developers need to do better.

fact is that each season is indeed one month (proof is cattle, there lifetime is displayed as months, not seasons) , but all 4 seasons are already a year

So is it like a Dyson sphere or shield world or was it just a regular planet with skin over it?

There's a globe furniture item so it's likely that the inhabitants believe they're on a round world. The sun always cast the same shadows so have fun with those orbital mechanics. =D

The sun always casting the same shadows would seem to support a Dyson sphere, especially since the sun seems like it's directly overhead

Now I have to wonder ... How would they get seasons in a Dyson sphere? I can imagine a metal, rotating hemisphere providing the day and night cycles, but what accounts for seasonal changes?

One thought I had would be that the sun was not at the exact center of the sphere. That way the portions of the sphere closer to the sun experience summer, while the parts further away experience winter.

Or the temperature of the sun could fluctuate on a regular schedule. That would mean the entire world experiences seasonal changes at the same time.

This is fun! Any other theories?
