About the endgame weapons

So, I'm in the end of year 2. Been using Yeti's tooth for about a ingame year or so, then I found Dwarf sword. Now my question is, as I have only one prismatic shard and not intending to go in the skull cavern anytime soon. Should I even bother with the galaxy sword? I guess I'll need it, if I'll want the best weaps, but Dwarf vs Galaxy seems to be quite on par. I even prefer dwarf for the +def.

Thoughts?

The Dwarf Sword has a power between 65-75, a speed of +2 and defense of +4
The Galaxy Sword has a power between 60-80 and a speed of +4

The Galaxy sword can both hit for more and less, but its higher speed means somewhat more swings. The Dwarf Sword has less of a peak but more of a average higher damage, and some defense.

However. The best weapon is the Infinity Blade. It has 80-100 damage, +4 speed and +2 defense. You can get this by combing the Galaxy Sword with 3x Galaxy Soul and 60 Cinder Shards.

So in other words. You should get the Galaxy sword if you wish to have the best weapon. If you do not care about the Infinity Sword, pick the one you like best. They are about on the same level.

If you wish to gain more prismatic shards there is a simple way to do it, and get a unlimited amount of iridium.

Get a bunch of Crystalarium machines and start to copy Jade.
Trade the Jade for 1 staircase every Sunday and when you got somewhere around 100 or more use the staircases to skip to floor sub 100 in skull cavern. Then just bomb your way through and you should have plenty of prismatic shards and iridium.
Prismatic shards are really not super rare anymore.

Getting the sword is one of the best use of a prismatic shard.
You'll get more once you do a few run in the skull cavern.
On a lucky day, using a totem to get to the desert early with 100 bombs, 100 health item (my personnal choice is cheese) and 40 stairs to skip monster levels or get to lower level faster, you'll get to level 100 in no time (also take a totem to get back to your farm).

If you think you will never go to the skull cavern, you can use the shard in the museum to complete the collection but it should not be a priority.

Hey thanks you both for your very detailed answers and tips! The thing is, I already did 3 serious cavern runs (only one with 15 staircases to skip monster/tedious floors), but still only one prism. shard, while having pretty much all the Iridium I need. Now I plan on having infinity weapon sooner or later, but I guess Dwarvish will do till I get another shard.

And yes, Cheese is totally OP :P I'm using kinda "budget-y" Blackberries, but since I'm having a lvl 10 perk in foraging, are Iridium quality so I just use em for serious mining runs :)
