The expanded mod is really really good. If you want more content it is what you want. As far as I know. No bugs if you get all the mods working correctly that is.

The new map is also really good. Tractor mod recommended however as it is REALLY big.

SVE has plenty of detail. I'd say it's certainly expansion-sized with lots of care put into it, and it feels quite seamless for the most part (though some of the dialogue added feels a bit off-character sometimes, but it's very minor). I'd certainly recommend it for a second playthrough, not so much for a first.

I will say, though, some of the content in it can be rather... dark. I think there's a setting to disable it, but be warned that if you can't handle certain themes you might want to consider looking into those details before diving in.

I played the original game a lot before I installed SVE, and now I don't think I'd play without it.

And I agree, the tractor is a good companion mod and having the larger fields and a tractor can make farming, well more like farming and less like having a big garden.

IMO, SVE is excellent, well balanced, and adds a lot to the core game.

The vanilla game has: cheating on your spouse, alcohol addiction, suicide and self harm references, misogyny, drug references, body issues, terrorizing the homeless, mental illness... Now I'm intrigued, how does SVE take this further? :o

Personally for me Stardew valley isnt even worth playing past year one without that mod (or even a thought - I honestly don't get what people are hyped at all). So, yeah it's awesome mod that complements the game, like vanilla never did - at least for me

It only has that if you take select elements and over exaggerate it to the nth degree. I find such characterizations very much dishonest. It is the same kind of over exaggerations that said D&D made you into a satan worshiper. Or playing Doom cause you to summon demons.

Heck, Rasmodius already has the satanism covered and you can indulge child abandonment through the Witche's Hut. It's a pretty fleshed out game.
