Am I the only one that hates Elliot?
Hate him. Hate him!!! He was one of the most useless, and annoying partners ever. Him and his cringe whiny ass lol He frustrated the hell out of me.

I want to see if there's anymore anti-Elliot users because he seems to be extremely popular and I don't understand it. I avoid him now like the plague

"Hate" would be a strong word ... I am disinterested in him though ... he's one of the characters I seldom ever get to know.

You use such a strong word for a video game character. If you don't like Elliot, then don't interact with him, however, I think once you get to "know" his character, you'd like him.

I don't particularly hate him. His schedule is just build in a way, that i barely interact with him though.

Otherwise on the uselessness-rating, everything is on par with elliot, because there's not really any reason to marry anyone other than for the sake of having married someone.

He is previsible and self-centered, but I wouldn't say he is has a bad personality, because he has none. I should say, though, that he was the fastest divorce I had in this game.

Lol. Posts like these only encourage people who like him to post... people like me. He is the only bachelor that I like and find interesting.

Yep, the only one.

Now go stand in a corner and think about your hate while Yoba forgives you! :brownchicken:

His lack of a personality makes impossible to me to hate or love him. To me he comes across as someone that lost his way - and his writer's blockage is the most visible symptom. He's self-centered, but not as bad as Halley is at the beginning, so I think Elliot could also benefit from a growth arc just like her.

I think that's a common "issue" with a lot of characters in these type of games. They are usually not very well written, or deep. But I think that's also on purpose since the main focus, in this case, is supposed to be on the farm. The characters are still there and they have a purpose, but they remain half baked and it doesn't have to be a bad thing.

How slanderous! Did you forget about ChrillBill :P

He is a whimsical prince character, ready to passionately sweep the player off their feet. All marriage candidates are stereotypes, and the selection would feel lacking without his type. He could be better (they could all be better) but, in a way, the cringe fits the game's general atmophere. After all, SDV is like a 90's sitcom: outdated in many ways but still nostalgic. :3

Exactly. Elliott is my favourite bachelor, and I have had them all...! Which sounded a lot more dirty than was intended... But the point is; I appreciate him. He is not just a dreamer, he also tries to make his dreams come true! Though I agree his arc could use some work. Same can be said for all of the marriage candidates in my opinion. :brownchicken:

hate is a really strong word for an NPC in a video game

it's not like he's morris

I zone out when I read his dialogue, but I always assume I am just too jaded for his kind of language. What would drama be if people like Elliot did not exist, for that I am grateful.

But...hating him when you marry him..it's like someone hating that the dog they got barks??

Maybe you married him cause everyone says he's so great, and that is...hmmm. There's a word for that. I think his appeal is that unlike all the other males, he doesn't start off with a "leave me alone" vibe.

What? How can you hate that gorgeous hair?

Plus, he is an aspiring writer. I can relate to that.
