issue completing first racoon task

He's asking for 5 clams and a ghost fish. I gave him the five clams-- I had four regular and one silver star, but the game let me individually put them into the same spot, so there is still a space left for the ghost fish. When I returned with a ghost fish, it won't light up in my inventory so i can pick it up and place it in the spot. I also can't move the clams-- there's literally nothing I can successfully click on. I realize I must have screwed this up with the different qualities of clams, but it made it appear there wouldn't be a problem, so I wouldn't have known.

no need for the recipe, you have one in the caves, at least when you take the fungus route for it.
