Auto-Running Issue...Again?

Every time I open the game my character immediately starts running in a random direction. I figured out I could run in another direction by holding shift(or ctrl) and WASD but then they'd keep running in that changed direction. I played the game and had Steam restart itself for an update afterwards. I've been having this issue since I opened it the next day and I don't know I that had a part to play in this or is it something else.

Also, I did see that others had this issue before, but most of them were from 2016, and have no affect now. I don't really know what to do and I already checked the settings to make sure they're the same.

that might sound stupid but have you check your keyboard. I mean is it broken or something? I've never heard something like that before I wish I could help more than that.

Do you have a controller connected? Maybe it is trying to overwrite your keyboard input?

You mentioned this was after an update and restart of Steam. Have you tried restarting Steam or your computer since?

No it doesn't sound dumb; it was one of the first things I checked. I made sure my keyboard didn't have any sticky keys by typing and playing other steam games, but they all work just fine.

The only things connected to my computer is my speakers and mouse.

Yeah, I've tried restarting steam and made sure that it and my computer updated. Nothing.

I think I may have fixed the issue temporarily. I was trying to find ways to revert steam to back before the update/restart, and tried running the app as an 'administrator" and the game seems to be working now. I don't know if I'll keep having to play the game like this or something else may happen in the next update, but at least its working.
