SWITCH PRO CONTROLLER ON MAC

i was told i can use my switch pro controller to play stardew -- I hate playing with keyboard and mouse (i play on my Mac). I did all the settings on steam but when i open the game to play it doesn't seem to work. does the switch pro controller work on stardew valley on mac? or do i need the xbox controller? If someone could tell me how to get my switch pro controller to work that would be amazing-- if not please tell me what controller to buy!!!

I use a pro controller on my PC (not mac) but this trick may help you.

Before launching Stardew my pro controller would recognised by steam. But would not work in Stardew when the game was launched.

The trick that worked for me is after I launch Stardew Valley I need to first unplug and plug in the USB cable for the pro controller to become recognised by the Stardew Valley game.

Hi, i have the same problem, I'm on mac.
I tried your trick but when i unplug my pro controller the game crushes too...
i tried my steam controller also didnt work.
my bf has xbox controller and seems to work fine.
