Can't figure out how to add bait to crab pot on steam deck

every other system it lists online. i think it might be the equivalent of a right click (on pc) but don't know how. ty in advace

Have you tried putting the crab pot in the water --> equip the bait so your character is having it on the top of their head --> walk up to the crab pot and press (A) or (X)?

thank you so much! i expected it to be like the fishing rod and load the full stack, but it just loads one. this works.

How DO you put bait on the fishing rod? My partner and I can't figure it out for the life of us and I feel like we're missing something so obvious... And we can't progress in fishing until we can. TIA

LMB on your bait then RMB on your rod. Same for tackle or bobber.

Just select the fishing bait in your inventory, move it to the slot your fishing rod is in and press the action button (X by default) to equip a fishing rod with bait. You can attach tackles to your rod in the same way.

I nearly jumped for joy when this worked!!!! Thank you all for the explanations. There was a series of misguided mistakes, including trying to put a tackle on a fibreglass rod (rather than bait, which is all it will take). Thanks again. Cheers and happy gaming
