Fishing level too high?

Hi!
I tried to catch Lava eel in the volcano,
The wiki says with Lava eel Bait and Fishing lvl 19 you have ~ 83,4% chance to get one.
I got a Master advanced iridium Fishing rod with Golden Seafoam Pudding ---> fishing level 16 and Lava eel Bait and only catch trash.
After some ingame hours the Seafoam buff dissappeared and then i got one Eal after another?

This isn't the first time i experienced this.
It feels like dish o sea give me a better chance to get it than seafoam pudding?

To my knowledge, no, it's just the whim of the RNG gods.

You just got unlucky, try to increase your Luck stat. I suggest wearing the Lucky Ring and equipping the Curiosity Lure( a drop from the Mummy) to boost the chance of catching rare fishes.

The curiosity lure doesn't work in the volcano, only in lvl 100 mines.

Just a matter of luck. Pretty sure Concerned Ape himself helps keep the wiki up to date, so if it's not on there, it's either not a thing or it's a bug.

Ow I didn't know it's in the volcano...I fished it from the mines 100th floor. I didn't have any buffs, no luck, no fishing bonus (I was too lazy and poor to figure food out), deluxe bait..not sure about the tackle, might have used a cork bobber?.

Iridium Rod. I did have max level fishing though -I think- no mastery though for sure.

It was getting hooked back to back couldn't manage to catch it (was just fishing blind was curious fishing in lava), then couldn't find it anymore. Seeing that everything else is trash, my curiosity got me hooked.

Reset the day...fished for most of the day didn't hook it at all, just trash and maybe cave jelly.

Reset another time, and finally lol...it was painful and scary.

Ok i may found the problem:
With fishing lvl 16 you can reach some kind of fishing zone 6(?) or something.
If i don't throw the bobber at max but more in the near i can reach with level 12 or something i got a really nice chance to catch eels.
