Year 2, Spring Help
I just got into this game last week, and I am in my second year in spring and really struggling with witch crops are best in spring! I am looking to grind this year for a horse stable to get a horse and hopefully more of the community center to get the greenhouse!

My year 2 goals are,
- Build horse stable for a horse.
- Greenhouse (not close)
- maybe backpack upgrade to tier 3 (have tier 2)
- Pickaxe upgrade to gold (currently have pickaxe, Axe and watering can all on steel)

I think your best bet for spring would be strawberries if you managed to get them last year during the spring dance, if not your second best choice would be cauliflower with speed gro, and if you have pickling jars available you can increase your capital further. Best of luck to you farmer.

The best crop for Spring is Strawberry and maybe Rhubarb if you have fixed the Bus( completed the Vault Bundle), you can only buy the seed from the Egg Festival though.

Building a stable require a lot of Hardwood, i recommend clear out the Stumps in the Secret Wood (it's in the top left of Cindersap Forrest blocked by a log of wood so you will need a Steel Axe) everyday then plant their seed.

To get the Greenhouse you will need various crops from all season (except Winter) so check the bundles every time you get (you can check them in top right of your Inventory, items that are needed will also pulsate the icon when hovered). You should save some money to get either a Barn or Fruit Trees as soon as possible.

Many items needed for bundles can be bought via the Travelling Cart, they will appear on Fridays and Sundays in the Cindersap Forrest to left of the giant tree.

Hope this helps.

Well, mostly your goals center around cash, so you'll want to maximize that. But do be aware, Spring isn't the most lucrative season.

As mentioned (by Antidote#77), the Community Center requires gathering a wide selection of items from throughout the year, so ... plan ahead. There are easy bundles, which just require one of each crop from each season (of year one crops). The two more difficult bundles are The Animal Bundle and the Artisan Bundle Both of those will require more planning. You'll Need at least a Large Barn and a Large Coop to complete the Animal bundle, and you'll need the Animals, and they'll need to be happy enough to produce the Large size products Alternatively, you can check the Traveling Cart (every Friday and Sunday) and you might get lucky on some items.

The Artisan bundle will also require planning ahead, you only need 6 of the items total, but it'll still require you to diversify your production (probably by planting several Fruit trees). Fruit trees take a whole season to mature, so ... if you're going to be using those, you need to plant them at least 28 days before you want produce from them. Meaning you'll need to plant Orange Trees and Peach Trees in Spring if you want any fruit from them this year. And that of course requires either more cash, or more luck at the Traveling Cart.

The most lucrative crop in Spring is going to be Strawberries.

Ideally, you'll have a Seed Maker, and enough leftover Strawberries to get enough seeds to start production on Spring 1, but if not, you'll have to wait until the Egg Festival to buy more Strawberry Seeds.

Another key to generating cash is to build up your farm infrastructure and to do something with every raw crop you produce. In particular, converting Strawberries into Strawberry Wine (via Kegs) is probably the easiest way.

The bottleneck for Keg production is Oak Resin, Oak Resin will require you to build Tappers and tap Oak trees, so start that process early.

Preserves Jars are also good ways to process raw crops, but those require Coal, so it's typically slower to build up a good collection of them than it is to build up a lot of Kegs.

Once Summer comes, Hops, Blueberries and Mellons are good cash crops. Again, process the raw crops. In Fall, Cranberries and Pumpkins.

But remember, you still need to grow at least a little of EVERYTHING for the Greenhouse bundle.
Sprinklers, strawberries and cauliflower. Can't go wrong.

As someone else new (my first Summer year 3), Spring is whatever. Hoarding Strawberry Seeds all year long for the next Spring sucks, it's money you're "leaving on the table" so to speak... and I think that's just stupid when you've got upgrades, buildings, etc to spend that money on.
One does want to move into consistent and solid income, but even the Seed Maker is a joke.
Manually grinding hundreds of strawberries for hundreds of seeds each year is laughable. It's too fast to want to craft very many of them, but too micro-y to want to manage.
If you have the 10% crop growth speed trait, planting (watered too, of course) the Strawberries the day OF the festival you can buy them gets you 3 harvests which is still really solid. But it's hectic (esp if we're talking 400-500 of these things) so I just don't recommend.
So honestly just plant whatever in Spring, and as you get toward the latter half, whatever the most expensive thing that will bloom on or before the 28th.

On bundles, set up 1 Apple Tree at least somewhere. You can just shove it wherever, it doesn't need maintenance. You ain't likely to get enough apples for the Fodder Bundle elsewise.

Blueberries and Cranberries, as many as you can cram within Sprinkler radii, for Summer and Fall are the easy money to someone newer. You can spend all of day 1 setting them up with no time issues and sweep up the money all season long.

This is all very helpful! Thank you to all who replied on this post. I am currently still pushing for the bundles. I truly believe that at the start of year 4. Your game should be really well off from my online research. This means everything established greenhouse, good crops that grow continuously, animals, money coming in daily.. all that jazz. Until then, no need to go the Joja route of the game. This is a time based game where the best part is to enjoy the little to get the big then capitalize overtime. I may sound like a rookie dummy here but I would like to look at this game this way as a whole. The the comments here are great! Thanks yall!

I also got 45 strawberry seeds just now during egg festival year 2. I will play it stetegic and put them away for the greenhouse. I am finding other ways to make money and that is a challenge I like seeing everyone goes for strawberries to make money early.

Your goal (if you haven't already done it) should be sprinklers. Everywhere sprinklers. Saves you TONS of time. Just spam crops everywhere, and make sure everything has a sprinkler.

Strawberries are best, if you have them, as others have said.
If not, then cauliflower.

Again, just plant as much as possible of these, every cent goes into that.

Upgrading your bag is a good idea too.
The horse shouldn't be a priority, but if you want to for fun, that's obviously your call. The horse just doesn't really help that much.
If you can do the greenhouse, absolutely go for it! I filled mine so every inch has a sprinkler, and I filled it with ancient fruit, which keeps going, so I never need to plant again. If you can do this with strawberries or blueberries, that will be almost as good. The greenhouse filled with sprinklers and a fruit that keeps pumping out produce is going to make you rich for sure.
