Right now he's working on the porting process, and after that he's going to work on his other game, and then at some point he'll be back to doing another update for this one. It's his magnum opus.

To OP: I personally wouldn't. I'd assume most of the art is the same as the 2 previous versions you own, and justifying buying a new copy for the few extra pieces that would relate to 1.6 would require you to have both a ton of disposable income and great care for the artist.
like if they want 'how do I make money' the basic answer is quality sprinklers and kegs. the in depth answer goes into the optimal crops and grow cycles and money management.
you get quality sprinklers you will get money relatively easily.
how do I make friends? everyone likes tree fruit. unless you are doing Qi quest give 50 loved gifts in a week (In which case give 7 gifts to your wife, and since krobus, the wizard and dwarf don't move, probably linus and the barflies.
then everyone else gets prismatic shards except haley. apparently the game added stardrop tea which adds a massive amount of friendship especially on their birthdays.
Oh and fishing. except you get a TV channel now in game that gives relevant information, except doesn't seem to cover whether or not it needs to be raining.
The guidebook is gorgeous as a collector's item, and I have thought about buying it for that reason.
Yeah, I'm a bit surprised by some of the responses here. This isn't your typical Primagames guide you'd find at Gamestop. It's basically just like the wiki, except with nice art and bound in a hard cover. I'm not using it for instruction on what to do, but it is a great resource to have on hand, especially during the power outages that frequent my area, which means no internet to access the wiki. Luckily, I have my steamdeck and a backup battery
I guess my main issue is that I get the feeling of... incompleteness? Knowing that my version of the book is no longer the "definitive" version. Perhaps it's a mix of FOMO and OCD, lol. I guess marketing has scrambled my brain a bit.
In any case; I've come upon a "solution" this time around. A friend of mine, who I know irl, had SDV wishlisted recently, so I bought it for him and plan to give him my out-of-date copy of the book
Maybe next time I'll have a little lottery and give the next book away on the forum once it becomes "outdated" again. Then my problem can become someone else's
Yeah I'll be pretty slow by then also
But the book was made by a machine! The machine gestalt consciousness should be proud of its grampy printing press :3
