don't think you actually need an octopus for anything though, unless you're just going for 100%
punching them in the face when I finally go 'em o.o
Fishing does get easier as you level the skill and get access to lures and the iridium rod.
After catching one, you can make a Fish Pond for them and never have to use the mini game again. Granted, they'll always be Common, but they aren't reliable sellers anyway.
I swear every time a game tries to be challenging someone will complain that it's "too hard". if it were any easier I'd literally be raking in octopus.
how about you actually invest into fishing and play the game as intended? or just get a mod, seems like your bag.
the game is intended as go at your own pace. There's no right or wrong way to play.
Lots of people struggle with fishing especially at the earlier levels, OP. Don't worry about catching the really difficult fish first time. It takes a lot of practice and you may just need to level up a bit more.
pointing at a group of people who prefer something with no other supporting information isn't a very compelling argument.
possibly even both come to think of it.
