Should I read a book again or exchange it?

I got the Book of the Forest (I think that's its English title) and gained 5% chance to earn twice as many wood pieces. I found it again now. If I read it, will I have 10% or it'll just be a waste? Should I wait for the book day and exchange it for another?

if you unlocked the mastery cave every little exp helps to unlock the masterys.

sorry missed the core of you question: every book that gives you a perk gives you proffession exp when you read copys of a book you already read, it dont enhances the perk.
and when you unlocked the cave by mastering all 5 basic proffesions, all skill exp afer that will get pooled into one mastery exp pool you can read out at the cave.
thats why i sayed every little exp helps in that situation.

You can either save the book to trade/sell it at the Book Seller or read it again to gain some Exp.

I mean you could create a chest and dump all your books near the book seller but I didn't feel many of them were worth while so I either consumed them for XP or sold them.
