Where can I find some quartz ?
I would like to know from which floor quartz can be found in the mine, I can't find any answer to this question on the internet.

I am only talking about the quartz that can be mined in the base mine. Not the one of the drops and the cave.

Thank you in advance.

I'm pretty sure Quartz can be found anywhere on the ground in the Ice zone - level 40 to 80 in the Mines, i don't know what kind a cave you are talking about tho.

Quartz can be found on pretty much any floor of the mines. It's random. If you spend time in the mines, you'll find some. Not necessarily a lot on any one day, but over time, you'll get more than you need. Watch for Earth Crystals too.

One of the best ways to get refined quartz, is to run broken CDs and broken glasses through a Recycler.

Use the recycler with glasses and cds. easiest thing to catch fishing on your crappy farm ponds.

I had 2 on a fresh game before I hit the first elevator on level 5, so I can confidently say you can find them on levels 1-10. =) LOTS of other places (and floors), but they are accessible right out of the gate.

yeah, why are you looking for quartz? its everywhere, the fire quartz is better for turning into refined quartz, just shove some into crystalariums.

yes you can also recycle fishing trash, but thats a different set of skills.

Okay, I'll craft one recycler so.

I'm searching quartz because I'm just starting out in the game and I want to craft sprinklers. But hey, despising beginners as if you had never been one is a good state of mind.

And moreover, everyone plays as they want.

sir, whats with this hostility? if you want to get quality sprinklers throwing broken CDs and Glasses into recycling machines work.

if you go into the mines at all you'll probably get enough quartz lying on the ground but that uses coal, so I would advise against it, until you get to fire quartz and use the coal for making the bars instead.

but 1.6 added coal nodes and better smelters so I actually have a surplus of coal now after always being out in 1.5 and earlier.

Did it? Interesting, haven't played since 1.6 released, and I'm about due. Coal nodes would be nice.

Coal nodes largely take the form of minecarts, satchels and soot sprites. The recycler will also produce a small supply.

Yeah, but those all existed in 1.5. red255 is talking about something new, hence my question.

Those are indeed nice, but somewhat late game and the daily supply is limited. They come with the quarry bridge repair. It's still tricky reaching the point of never needing to buy coal.
