Should I replace my chickens with dinosaurs?
Is there any reason not to? I got a dino egg and now the little fella is laying more, so I can incubate them.

Is there any reason to keep my chickens at this point?

There is a new special power book that makes every artifact worth 3x its value. Since a dino egg is an artifact, the price is way higher, specially the star quality ones. (you have to sell it raw, NO mayo processing)

EDIT:

Also, end-game spoilers, after achieving mastery in farming, you can get *golden animal crackers*, that DOUBLE the output produce of any animal (except pigs, because they're already overpowered) and that can make dinos even more profitable.

Sorry but it has been calculated and chickens are still more profitable:
1 large egg daily = 7 large eggs in a week = 7 gold quality mayo = 399*7=2793 with Artisan.
dino lays 1 egg per week. 1 Dino mayo sells for 1120 (again, Artisan)
And with Apprisal Guide - dino egg itself (iridium quality!) sells for 700*3=2100

But like I said, with the golden animal cracker the dino lays 2 eggs a week. The chicken will lay 2 eggs with the cracker per day? If so, then you're right

so I was poking around. early game we have options.

Void chicken which we can make void mayo for 385 a day with artisan.
Regular chickens seem to be worse.
Rabbits are worse than chickens.
ducks are worse than chickens.

Dinos. if we are in year 3 they make one or two eggs a week with thingy. if they are producing iridium star eggs and we have the book that triples the price of artifacts, thats 2100 per week or 300 per day. which is STILL worse than void mayo, though less work by a significant margin except you need to keep your dinos happy.

finally if you achieve perfection, you can get golden eggs. however I'm not sure theres any need to keep playing after achieving perfection.

Regular chickens are better than void. Big eggs make gold mayo which is 399 with artisan.

If you look for profit, Coop is not the one at first place. So I would not amke it overcomplicated - just make 4 chickens early enough to start passive income and than 2 of each.. wahtever to get access to all items. Never reason fill it with one type only or overthink it.

Barn is bit different story where ranchers cvan look on more serious profit - pigs, sheeps and to some degree Ostriches are decent profitable option.

ill put in my few cents as well lol.. once all is done for animal bundles, i keep and get more goats for the cheese and put them in casks to get iri level cheese fast and get a good amount of money from that , they get to iri faster than wine does

why get rid of chickens to make room for dinos?? Build another coop and have both.
I have 3 coops right now, one for regular chickens and rabbits, one for dino's and ducks, and one for blue and gold chickens and Chocolo's

There's the quest to give 24 eggs to gus.

If you have a few regular chickens and an auto collector that's a trivial quest.
I think on my farm I currently have 2 rabbits (for the feet... which make great birthday gifts for almost everyone) 4 dinos, and 2 regular chickens - mostly to make sure I have eggs for cooking and quests.
