Is nexus more important for SMAPI then Github/official site?

If I had to guess: Nexus is simply more wider used by the the average mod user. I'd say 70% of mod users wouldn't even be aware that their fav mod dev has a github page, plus Nexus is easier to navigate when it comes to downloading the correct file.
