So it depends on what is my goal, always use speed buffs and high immunity and maybe ring that decrease debuff duration (ring that craft with slime) helping on run
[rant] Im always bummed when getting to the bottom of the regular mines since it doubles the HP of everything in the mines. I hit the bottom at lvl 5 or 6 but it doesnt increase combat xp at all ! xp is per kill ! Im always on 25% profit so its not like i can just buy a lava katana[/rant]
maybe we can come back for Haunted Chocolatier which was said to be more combat focused than stardew valley
About the combat, yeah it isn't great but it's not terrible at all if you ask me. I feel like a lot more could be done with combat to make it more interesting and fun which is what I hope to see in Haunted Chocolatier, but it's not like combat is that much of a focus in this game so it isn't as big of a deal as it could've been. Still easily the weakest part of the game, though.
Be sure to stock up some gems (like ruby, emerald, jade... especially Rainbow stones). You will know why.
I was missing two dragon teeth to be able to craft the mini forge and the totem for the achievement. Go to settings and set the graphics to 75% size if you want to do speedruns, that helps you with seeing more of the map inside the volcano dungeon.
If you're going for dragon teeth, the safest bet right now seems to be attacking the lava lurks (monsters floating in the lava that shoot fireballs at you). They're often present on the first large lava areas on the first levels in the volcano dungeon. Dragon teeth can drop from those but it is a rare drop.
Speedruns where you scout for any dragon bone areas and attacking lava lurks in the huge lava areas seems like the way to go right now. Remember if you have the freezing rod trinket you might stun the monster somewhere out in the lava but you can use the watering can to build a bridge to it. Use triple shot espresso to get extra speed during speedruns.
However, the end reward makes it totally worth it. Just make sure you stock up on golden walnuts before you get to that point!
I've never been able to get past floor 5 in the volcano, and that only one time, to get the Cinderclown shoes. But now, thankfully, you can get the mini forge for your farm. I did (along with the anvil) and it's great.
Is there anything else on floor 10 of the volcano other than these 2 items? Good enough to convince me to try again now that I have a buffed Infinity Blade?
Floor 10 has the forge, the lava eels, and isn't there some crimsonfish there too?
Yep! :D I'd already caught all the fish so no need for crimsonfish or lava eels. If there's nothing else on the 10th floor I won't even bother trying.
There's a prismatic shard on the 10th floor
I ran through the 9 levels eating cheese and using the watering can just because I wanted that darn thing for the other thing because I was having bad luck at the skull cavern (I'm having daily bad luck overall, sad)
