Mods Not Working After Stardew and SMAPI Update

So, I normally launch Stardew through SMAPI because I use a lot of mods. Tried to load up just now and it says that SMAPI isn't compatible with the latest Stardew update. Ok, no problem. I update SMAPI. Game loads up just fine. SMAPI does tell me that a lot of my mods are outdated (no shocker there), but that others are fine. I get to the game screen and it doesn't recognize that I even have mods at all. The little mod manager button in the lower left of the screen is totally gone. I can load into my farms, but there are red slashthrough circles over where all the moded content was. I don't get what the issue is, since SMAPI is working and saying there are working mods, but none of them show up (or are even acknowledged). What am I supposed to do about this? There's not even an error or anything, it acts like it's fine, but it's not fine....help? And sorry, I know there have probably been a million other topics like this lately. Oh, and one other thing. After exiting Stardew, my display brightness is super dark and I can't adjust it. Turning the monitor off and on seems to fix it, but nothing else. Why is this happening? Can I make it not happen, cause it's really annoying. Thank you.

It's cuz the mods aren't updated, plain and simple. SMAPI isn't a catch all case.
Red slashthrough circles is a "stop/cancel/unavailable" sign.

As for your monitor, do you play Fullscreen? FS Windowed?
Do you alt + tab during gameplay? Have you tried not alt+tabbing then exiting?
Have you tried adjusting your settings to lowest and see if it comes up, etc?
Which fixes have you tried?

Yeah, I get it that the slash through circles are telling me that the modded content is unavailable. Why don't even the updated mods work though?

I play fullscreen and don't alt-tab out. Alt+tabbing or not alt+tabbing doesn't make a difference for the brightness. Haven't tried using lowest. I like to run highest settings.

I've basically just tried adjusting the brightness settings in the windows display settings stuff. And I've tried googling both problems but can't find anything that matches what my problem is, so haven't tried much of anything really.

Guessing your monitor default setting and the settings you use in game are different. This can cause issues in windows when closing an application. As for the stops....Smapi may say they are updated but they are obviously not so just go through and update what you can ( not all mods will now work with 1.6 )

update the SMAPI, then restart game, and SMAPI will fix the incompatibility, and close, '
then you can restart the game just fine,
