Can't plant fruit tree

I had a few fruit trees all lines up like an orchard. My 4yr old son just decided to chop some down for no reason (ouch...). I replanted a couple, but in one spot it won't let me replant it. It's the exact same spot, and all 8 squares are unoccupied. I've replanted the trees exactly where they were, but it's not letting me do this one spot.
Any ideas why? Seems super weird.

I've heard of blob tiles or something (I didn't really understand it), but can a tile "become" blobbed? Like did chopping down that one tree somehow corrupt the tiles so they can't be used now or something?

Trying hitting it with your hoe, then again with your pickaxe, and try planting.

That tile may have be stuck in a state between "available for planting" and "planted"
