The Magic Quiver or the Ice Rod?

I just got the Ice Rod about an hour ago. Haven't used it yet but according to the stats it only shoots a 'freeze' once every 4 seconds. However The Magic Quiver shoots far more frequently & kills, especially after upgrading it. Which do you prefer and why?

I use Magic Quiver primarily because I like having the ranged auto-defense thing, but it is definitely a pain to be trying to kill something and watch my trinket blast the target out of sword range without killing it. Have been thinking of swapping over to the Ice Rod actually haha!

Ice Rod. Skull Cavern with ice rod and an explosive ring gets everything cleared.

I have both the perfect ice rod & the perfect quiver after rolling it several times in the anvil. Ended up using the quiver more because sometimes the rod freeze the enemies outside of the wall and i can't kill them, meanwhile i was trying to complete the adventure guild challenge. But if you just wanna passing thru as quickly as possible, the rod might be better.

The Ice Rod is the way to go, imo. The ice rod doesn't just stop them from moving towards you, it stops them from being knocked back.

If you're fighting a serpent, for example, you may have to wait for it to charge at you three times before you can deal enough damage to kill it. Maybe a quiver can hit it once or twice and reduce that to two, but the ice rod will allow you to kill it in a single charge.

I prefer the ice rod for this reason. No more obnoxious knockback = significantly faster kills. On the other hand, the greatest flaw of the ice rod is its tendency to freeze rock crabs when they have their defenses up, forcing me to pickaxe the rock off if I want to kill them.
