The Magic Quiver or the Ice Rod?
I just got the Ice Rod about an hour ago. Haven't used it yet but according to the stats it only shoots a 'freeze' once every 4 seconds. However The Magic Quiver shoots far more frequently & kills, especially after upgrading it. Which do you prefer and why?

That's ok, I don't use any mods.

Well, that's interesting...

Ice Rod. I have one that shoots every 3.2 seconds and freezes for 3.9 seconds. If you kite and line enemies up, it will freeze many with just one shot. I've had a great time in the Dangerous Skull Cavern with it.

I used the Magic Quiver before I found an Ice Rod. The quiver was very useful in clearing the Volcano Dungeon, because it kept the fire sprites away. Its damage isn't very high, though, so It's not as fast at killing as freezing the enemies with Ice Rod and whacking them with a strong weapon.

The Magic Quiver might actually work well with a slingshot. You could go fully ranged. Haven't tried it, but it's a possibility.

I carry both and use them in different situations

The quiver can be useful for finding hidden enemies such as the rock crab, and sometimes I DONT want to freeze enemies in place (such as grouping up mummies for quick slingshot disposal)
What about a Magic Quiver of Ice Rods?

The Ice Rod is the way to go, imo. The ice rod doesn't just stop them from moving towards you, it stops them from being knocked back.

If you're fighting a serpent, for example, you may have to wait for it to charge at you three times before you can deal enough damage to kill it. Maybe a quiver can hit it once or twice and reduce that to two, but the ice rod will allow you to kill it in a single charge.

Quiver. Ice Rod makes frozen enemies invincible while frozen. Or was something else causing me to do zero damage?

Frozen enemies are definitely not invincible.

Ice rod all the way. Avoiding and picking up enemies instead of getting them clump up feel great.

Compare to the quiver, it does perform better in harder environment imo.

Maybe it was the bugs but no bughunter thing. I remember going in and freezing LOTS of enemies that infinite blade did 0 damage to.

In that case, freeze them!

Also, I can wear two trinkets. I don't know if this is Vanilla or from a mod, but I don't see a "More Trinkets" mod, and I don't see any mod that "obviously" gives +1 Trinket to use.

Ah did you use Wear more rings mod? I think that mod has the option for two trinkets.

That must be it, I did get that mod and wear six combined rings.

All these years, I just thought it was part of the game, lol!
