Mods with new patch

So for some context I use smapi for my mods. It came out with a new update, so obviously updated it, but now its saying I cant play because I dont have the 1.6.4 update, steam is saying my updates are up to date, anyone else having the same issue?
edit: its the actual SMAPI software telling me I haven't updated the game software. SMAPI is fully updated.

What is saying that? SMAPI? Show what the logs say specifically, this is too vague.

Your "context" isn't clear at all. To use mods you need to be using the latest version of smapi. So you'll need to update smapi if you havent, and then you'll also need to make sure to update your mods as well. Pretty straightforward. Your mods have absolutely nothing to with steam. Steam does not update mods or even monitor your mods.

it made everything incompatible until you also update your SMAPI
Update your SMAPI, then reopen the game, SMAPI will fix the problem, and close
Reopen the game again and you are fine.

figured out the issue and its not that, the update isnt coming up on my computer for some stupid reason, so its still trying to load 1.6.3

try to close out steam, then reopen and verify your files, that should update you to 1.6.5

Back up your mod folder, your save in %appdata% and uninstall smapi.

Go verify your game file so that Steam may no longer getting hiccup.
