Dehydrator anomaly
So I noticed that if you have the power for Bear's Knowledge (Blackberries and Salmonberries worth 3x gold). If you put 5 of them in the dehydrator what comes out is worth LESS than 5 of the non-dehydrated fruit. For blackberries with the Bear's buff 5 x 60 = 300g, but dehydrated blackberries don't seem to include the buff and end up as 20 x 7.5 + 25 = 175g. Salmonberries go from 75g to 58g when dehydrated.

Not sure if that was intended, but it certainly doesn't feel right within the context of how other things in the game work.

dehydrated blackberry is different from a blackberry. no anomaly here.

It works the same with other selling buffs, selling buffs apply to their targets, not to transformed stuff including targets in their recipe. for example cooking.

Think of it as a buff that saves you from needing to dehydrate anything at all. It's a time saver.

Yeah i notice this as well, some will call it a "feature" but it just looks like a bug.

Bug seems overly harsh. I prefer to think of it as an oversight, which means it could be changed at some point. The rancher bonus applies to both milk and cheese. The fisher/angler bonus applies to fish and smoked fish.

I note though that there are two different bonuses relating to farming and they are on the same track, but don't interact with each other.

It just seems strange to me that neither bears knowledge nor tiller interacts with the value of artisan goods, while rancher/fisher/angler do.

Seems inconsistent is all I was saying...

It's not a bug, it works like the preserve jars and kegs it applies to the base price only (no quality nor buffs) it's also why dehydrated mushrooms are worth less than iridium quality mushrooms.

Had the same question then I looked at https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Dehydrator
Made calculation from the base price only and it worked.
