Big Chest Issue

With the latest update, I have successfully upgraded two of my gajillion Chests into Big Chests. I love it and it is awesome. But I've come across something rather strange. I just tried upgrading another regular Chest, and while the Big Chest did replace the smaller Chest, when I open this new Big Chest, I see the same number of inventory slots as I would on a regular Chest. I've tried reloading the save; tried restarting the game; I'm going to verify game cache next, but I'm wondering if I did a dumb somewhere? Or do I just have to do it the old-fashioned/tedious way and empty the regular Chest?

I have attempted to upgrade several different Chests, and I'm getting the same result. The first two Big Chests are just fine, but any additional Chests I try to upgrade do not have the additional inventory slots. I am confuzzled a-f.

Friend and I were having the same issue, but we also play modded.
Glad to know we weren't the only ones.

I didn't even know you can upgrade regular chests into big chests. I just crafted the big chests separately lol

Ah, I should have mentioned that I am playing vanilla. But I, too, am relieved I'm not the only one encountering this. It doesn't seem to be a blanket issue, as I asked another friend who plays if they've experienced this, and they have not -- at least, not yet. Hope I didn't jinx 'em or anything lol

At least until I stumbled upon the issue I'm now having, while you do still have to craft a Big Chest, having it active in your hotbar, then clicking on a regular Chest swaps out the regular Chest with a Big Chest, and the items that were in the regular Chest are now in the Big Chest.

I can confirm that my wife and I both are encountering the same issue. We both play vanilla SDV.

Have to break the small chest and put down a big chest. Swap feature no longer works.

And here, I was trying to go through the mods to see what broke the save... good thing to know it was just patch break...

currently just a visual bug take everything out pick it up put it back down to fix

Doesn't make sense to be patched since it was a base feature CA specifically mentioned.
More likely something in the code just goofed and he has to hunt it down.

Im having the same issue as well. I discovered this by accidentally replacing a big chest with a regular chest, I'll add I do play modded but it seems as vanilla players are still having the issue, but can confirm just break the big chest and place it down again and it should be fixed. :>

Vanilla here, and same problem. I have three chests. One worked ok, I came back to the other two later, and those didn't swap properly. I'm going to do the fix from above, hopefully that will fix the issue.

EDIT: Can confirm this works. I'm sure CA will have the swap fixed sooner or later.
