Auto-petter
Did all those new updates ever made the auto-petter obtainable in the non-joja route? or it's still only on the rare skull cavern chest drop?

Or you can use a mod to pet all your animal with a key press.
It's not about the function. It's about the item. I like to have everything. I'm greedy that way
Sound like you need the genie lamp mod.

Cheese it with Skull Cavern elevator. You can spam it in floor 100, 200, and 300.

Be careful though, that way is de wai of a Joja Sith Lord.

I managed to get 4 in one skull run so idk if now easier to obtain, probably just luck
I got 2 within 3 floors prior to the update...

I got one from a Dangerous Special Slime in the Mines during the Danger In The Deep Quest. This was in v1.6.3 though, before patch 1.6.4.
It has chance to be a monster drop?

Yes, it can be a monster drop, but only by Special Danger Slimes during the Danger Quest or when the Shrine is activated to make the Mines harder. Special Danger Slimes have a little golden star on their heads, like an antenna. Those special slimes are rare to find.

Huh did nto know it can be there as well.. not sure if wiki is 100% reliable, but yea.. also opened a hunderd boxes at least and dozens skull cavert chests in 1.6. perfection game and got nothing... but rng is rng, if chance is just few%, it is jsut very small sample.

You cracked open 100 since yesterday when they were added to the golden mystery boxes? Did you gather them all in one day of play or were you hording them? I suppose I just don't have enough time to play in a day myself.

I opened 48 Golden Mystery Boxes in a row on patch v1.6.5 and got 1x Auto-Petter. I have the feeling that any Items you can get from Golden Mystery Boxes have equal chances, because none of the listed Items in the Wiki have %-Chance numbers. But because the number of different Items you can get is so high, it is rare to get exactly the Item you want. For example, if you can get 100 different Items and if all of them have equal chances, then each item's chance is 1%. There are currently 53 different Items in a Golden Mystery Box according to WIki, based on that, the chance is 1,8867% (so slightly under 2%) for a wished Item to appear, each Box. This roughly matches with the ~2% drop rate from crates/barrels and special danger slimes, when Danger Mode in the Mines is turned on.

So, assuming all items really have equal chances to appear, then approximately every 53 Golden Mystery Box could contain an Auto-Petter. Of coure you can get unlucky and don't get an Auto-Petter even after hundreds of Golden Boxes, or you can get lucky and get one after only a few Golden Boxes.

But Auto-Petters were indeed added to Vanilla already in v1.5.
