They are pretty accurate.
I don't think the desert festival had anything to do with it. It's just random rng. I don't hardly ever check trash cans normally, that's why it was such a surprise. I only checked the one at the festival because it gives you calico eggs.

If I were gonna use utilities, I could just use my imagination to play the game
I want the Trash Catalog to decorate my house and that's it, and I can spend other time on doing more things ingame that suits my taste like combat and farming instead of playing a playstyle which heavily depends on RNG and is not my interest.
Can't say no to that RNG playstyle, but clearly it's not my taste nor you have to be a douchebag on deciding which way to play.
