Two barn full of pigs with a big area and let them forage for truffle. Get the Gatherer/Botanist professions for a chance at double truffle AND they are iridium-star. You don't even have to turn to oil as an iridium truffle is 1,250g whereas the truffle oil with artisan is 1,491g. So if you don't want to make Oil Makers, it's fine to just sell them as forages.
If you want to make use of aging caskets, get barns full of cows and turn the cheese into iridium-star. Going from gold to iridium star takes 7 days. A 5-star happy cow will always give you gold cheese AND cows give milk daily.
Ginger Island's farm full of Starfruit to turn to wine OR create a massive Beehive farm. The amount of space you get is enormous which should give you a lot of money from the honey, and wine as well.
If you plan on keeping those crystalarium, either do diamond or ruby. Diamond for money, ruby for spicy eels. Spicy eel is one of, if not the, best food to eat for general use. Speed + Luck is ALWAYS a good idea.
With animals I actually started sheeps as they are easy to collect (thats what I dislike msot on truffles) and iridium wool turn into 2 cloths,
Yeah I use diamonds for profit. I have enough eel food for rubies without need to use crystalarium but invest for buy resources is not so great with 50% margin and there is still irridium need (though atm I miss more gold) so I expand those bit slowly.
Beehive farm sound interesting. Never did it in some larger scale but what discourage me that harvest some hudnerds without Scythe must be a pain:p
As someone who had a farm with 900+ crops and nearly 150 beehives without mods or quality of life back when this game released, what makes it worth it is the money you get lol. But honestly, play how you want. You could make it so most of the ginger island farm is starfruit and on the sides there are beehives. Best of both worlds and you never really make anything massive, just think of it as a smaller farm you visit every now and again.
if its spring and you have spare seeds you can also fill the entire regular farm with ancient fruit.
But ye, I can do something with Island farm , so far I just plant there 100 tarots for occasional weekly and about 60+ pineapples which i am growing as I get new seeds (could possibly use seed maker to mass produce). Also couple exotic fuit treees but as I do not check them so regularly they are not worthy so much..
Btw one thing I jsut noted doing Qi mines quest - I use parrot 4 trinket and gosh, the gold is just raining (and ti is nto affected by lower margin:p) for manage my farm and go mine rest of day and I got well over 50 k there - every second monster drop 250-2k gold quite regularly. With loot it is decent profit activity.
