Mystic tree not growing

So I planted a mystic tree on Ginger Island about two in game weeks ago. I have added tree fertiizer to it. It has not grown a single step. I probably should mention that it is winter season. Am I doing something wrong? I have surrounded it by other tree saplings such as banana and mango, and they have grown quite a bit. Should I give the mystic seed more space or should I just not plant it on Ginger Island and do it back on the farm instead?

some trees take an entire season to grow, and some wont grow at all in winter.

Mystic Trees have a 15% chance to grow to the next stage each night during Spring, Summer, or Fall. With Tree Fertilizer, Mystic Trees have a 30% chance to grow to the next stage each night, including during Winter.
always make sure you leave the spaces directly around trees empty until they are grown, unless you have mods the let you plant anywhere.

Can confirm... mystic trees can grow very slowly compared to other trees, even with fertilizer and enough space. Patience grasshopper.
