inventory bug items cycling through very fast

I started my game (i think for the first time since the update) and immediately my inventory bugs out, the items are cycling through at lightning speed and nothing i do stops it. i even disconnected my mouse and keyboard, but it doesn't stop. neither does restarting.
pls tell me that's fixable without starting fresh :,(
