The Alleyway Buffet

I can't find this book (one of two I'm missing.) I've found the hole in the fence between Jojo Mart and the blacksmith. But nothing happens when I approach what I think is the golden garbage can. Additionally, this is supposed to be available from the bookseller starting in year 3 and I'm at the end of year 4 and it is not showing up.

Any ideas?

Go to the pink tree just above the town minecart track and walk right. The things that you need to pick/axe are visible, not hidden.
You just walk right through a gap in the fence that is hidden by the tree.

Nope. Never got it from the "secret" place. I ended up buying it from the bookseller. It finally showed up there.
