Where the hell is the cave jelly?

I've been fishing in the cave on floor 20, 60, and 100 for days now and haven't gotten a single jelly. I always keep getting sea and river jelly why can't I get the cave jelly?

I got my first on a good luck day fishing on floor 100. Should be the same for other floors, but it's rare to get it on a neutral or bad luck day

I got mine on volcano island mine last floor in lava.

Fish on floor 100 and cast close to the shore to avoid catching eels and use things to increase your luck.

Ocean and river jelly is easier for me to get than Cave jelly. I already have more than 40 each of river and ocean jelly while Cave jelly I only have 6

Try curiosity lures? I just got two (one after the other) with two of those in the advanced iridium rod on level 100 of the mines. Idk if those lures helped at all though.

How strange. I've not had any problem getting them, and I'm not even that far into the mines yet (only fished on level 20).

catch a lava eel then put it in a fishing pond they have a pretty good chance to drop cave jelly eventually

The Bookseller will randomly pick one each visit and trade three for a Jewels of the Sea book.

Increasing your luck stat will increase the chance to find them, also you need to catch a normal fish if you catch trash because it will never give you a jelly after fishing up trash until you catch a fish. (Except in cave apparently). So try to catch them when you have a good luck day from the TV + a luck buff.

They are edible, and part of at least one recipe (Dehydrator I think).

Fish smoker.

To me it seems Cave Jelly is one of those items that's a lot easier to get when you're not looking for it; I remember fishing up a few while trying to catch a Ghostfish, but when I was trying to fish for Cave Jelly (to make fish smokers), I only got one during multiple days of cave fishing.

River and Ocean Jelly are way easier to get, in my experience.
