do bushes/shrubs grow back?

i started a new farm on the forest map recently and just entered my 2nd year. in winter of 1st i cut down some shrubs and bushes because i'd already built all the farm buildings and wanted to move them around more freely. i thought the shrubs would maybe grow back the next season but they haven't yet :(

do i need to be more patient or are they gone for good? it's the one thing i didn't look up before because i thought they'd be like trees off the farm...

but if you want more greenery you can always plant trees where you want them on your farm. Also there are mods that add more kinds of bushes and a seed maker mod that lets you make fruit tree seeds, I found that planting flowers that grow on stalks , like roses, make great greenery on the farm.
