I think Marnie's love of animals far outweighs her love for Lewis... especially since the man wont marry her, and just uses her. I do not think forceably shoving animals into rewards machines constitutes as humane either.
Who's blueballing whom in this village is a really big question. After all, he did lost his best article of clothing to her somehow. And I highly doubt that these fell off him on its own.
Unless Marnie is keeping the boxers hostage for some reason... which does not explain why she is not hiding these better.
