Is there a way (or mod) that lets you hold down the action button and it'll keep harvesting?

it already does this in vanilla. Just hold down right click and it harvests

Depends on what you are doing, but in general yes. For example, if you are chopping down a tree you can hold down LMB and it will keep swinging until you let go. For harvesting you can hold down the button and move around and every time you encounter another harvestable thing it will harvest, same for petting animals.

This also works to some extent for filling processing equipment. For example, if you have a bunch of hops selected you can run along a row of kegs while holding down the button and it will fill them up.

I recommend two mods, the item spawner mod so you can get iridium scythe without farming it and even better the tractor mod which makes harvesting huge fields easy. Can't play without them.

This is already a feature in the game. Simply holding the button down will allow you to continue harvesting your crops. No need to keep pressing action over and over.

The tractor mod will be your best friend as it lets you use tools continuously and fast without holding down or clicking any buttons. And it makes mining a breeze.

I hold down to harvest as well as pet animals. Pet the first one but hold the button down and you can run around and pet them all and not need to keep track or keep clicking one you already clicked, it'll only do the un-pet ones.

Don't worry, you aren't the first to ask that :) if you didnt know you could hold down the button. I can imagine the look on your face when you found out being the same as mine haha. or the look on my hubbies face when he found out you could sprint in Skyrim.
