Leftover Calico Eggs From Desert Festival Disappear and Do Not Carry Over...

I just expended so many resources - bombs, stairs, food items - doing the skull cavern challenges to save up for the magic rock candy and other things, only to find out that the calico eggs you've earned disappear at the end of the festival, and do not carry over to the next year. Was there some kind of in-game warning or heads up about this somewhere and I just missed it? There were so many decorative items I wanted to buy but didn't because I was trying to save up my eggs. I had no idea that if you don't spend them by end of the festival they just vanish.

Yeah I only found out about this because I looked it up out of paranoia. Also, the desert festival is way too RNG for something that happens yearly, you only get 6 NPC shops per festival so if you're hunting for some specific things there is a very high chance those things won't show up. I hope it gets retooled slightly.

This is a really good point. Have no idea how long it will potentially be before I get another shot at buying those items I pointlessly passed on. *cries in vanishing eggs*

Unique currencies obtained in festivals end after festivals, so you would normally assume it's the same for eggs

The currencies from other festivals aren't usually physical items. The calico eggs are.

The Golden Tags from the Trout Derby do not disappear. I think this was a reasonable assumption.

I would normally assume I should prepare for the obvious bad-case scenario, or just check online, before hoarding anything limited that I have no indication won't disappear. It's a good rule of thumb in general ; if there are two possible outcomes, one is terrible, and you're aware of it, prepare for that one.

But yeah this event does feel a bit different with how it handles things, I actually thought it was a modded event before this thread
