Is this a mod that makes the NPCs not refer to you as he or she? And if so, why? Even if you identify as neither male or female, why does it hurt to play a video game with a male or female character? Is this really necessary?
Just leave that can of worms sealed, please. I know the OP kind of asked for it by posting such a question here instead of on the actual mod page over at Nexus. But those kind of discussions always end the same way and the question has already been answered.
(It actually already was answered if they had bothered reading on the actual mod page).
Why do you care? The mod exists so obviously people like it. There's lots of mods I wouldn't use that exist. I don't interrogate them all on why they like it. The mod doesn't change your game. It changes theirs. If you're honestly trying to learn about gender issues, that's great, but there are places to learn that are better suited. It's not really appropriate to demand a random stranger educate you.
So it seems like they are updating it and using this as a test to see how things go???
He is not demanding anything, he's literally just asking questions. And you're lambasting him for doing something completely benign.
Why are you even speaking for the OP in the first place, who asked YOU? Why are you acting like they couldn't answer themselves and need some kind of special protection? They can just ignore the questions if they don't feel like answering (which they seem to have done), nobody is doing anything to them or holding them hostage... You're criticizing a person for doing something wrong (which they haven't done) while yourself doing something very wrong and acting rude and confrontational towards somebody who literally just asked some questions.
There is literally nothing wrong about asking questions on a public forum. So, take your own advice, stop being rude and back off. Better yet, apologize for leveling baseless accusations at the guy you slighted...
Maybe take your own advice and don't answer for and protect the person I replied to if you think such things shouldn't happen.
But I didn't speak for them. I pointed out the questioning was inappropriate. I didn't lambaste. I wasn't harsh. I pointed out this isn't an polite thing to ask.
There are inappropriate question in certain circumstances. If you don't think so then walk up to a random strange lady and start asking her questions about how she handles her period and what her monthly discharge is like. See how that goes for you? Is it okay for you to learn how the female body works? Yes it's encouraged, that doesn't make it proper to ask strangers about it. Same goes here. They just asked about a mod, and didn't invite strangers to ask for a personal explanation of why.
He didn't say anything inappropriate, maybe in your mind he did but if you take everything at face value there is literally zero inappropriate questions or wording being asked. And on the internet you take what is being said at face value, you're not a psychic.
Meanwhile what you said IS actually inappropriate. You leveled two accusations: that he interrogated him (which he clearly didn't if you know what that word actually means), and that he was acting inappropriate, which is a baseless accusation without any proof as I've just shown. Also, making up straw man arguments about people asking about periods (... what even?) just makes you look even worse here. That has literally nothing to do with anything that was asked, it's incredibly weird to even go there and it makes it look like you're arguing this all in bad faith by making stuff up as you go.
My argument is clear and simple, two accusations, one being clearly hypocritical (accusing of being inappropriate while acting inappropriate yourself). And yours is that he acted inappropriate because... yeah, why? Because he asked some genuine questions? That YOU, not the person who was being asked, found to be rude? If you can't see how that makes zero sense, then I cannot make you understand. Just next time maybe think twice before you type something, and hold yourself to the same standard you try to hold others. People don't need to be defended from questions...
I know there are people out there who get off from things like these, they have this misguided sense of self-righteousness and attack others that they think do wrong, making themselves thin like they've done something to help or better the world. But these people usually occupy vapid places like Twitter and I don't want to assume that's your motivation here, people who do that usually aren't very polite or even try to argue, they just immediately go into insults and further accusations if you try to confront them. So, I'm just going to assume that you just jumped the gun and were overeager to scold somebody for something you think is wrong. And I'm just here to tell you, that as an outsider viewing in I disagree with your assessment of the situation, so maybe that helps you look at things a bit more objectively and maybe take things at face value and not assume motives or intent, which from my point of view looks like you are doing. That's all.
He asked questions about a personal subject. "why does it hurt you" is being personal. I could have used asking or inquiring since it is a bit charged since most people know the word from police dramas, I'll give you that. But they used a charged word first.
You started this because it's wrong to put words or intentions onto someone else, yeah? So why then was it not wrong for the person you're defending to make the claim that playing the game without the mod hurts the OP? That's doing what you are against but you only singled me out. It's not taking the Op a face value that they want it, which does not indicate they were hurt.
That shows me you are not replying in good faith since you ignored the thing you claim to be bothered about when it happened prior to me. So I'll leave it here to die now.
