Dragon Tooth dropchance broken, or am I just really unlucky?
Started a new farm after 1.6 dropped, and since I haven't seen a single dragon tooth in the volcano. not from the monsters, not amongst the bones. Is something wrong with the dropchance or am I just really unlucky?

I have got plenty, so probably just unlucky.

It's awful. Make sure you put a stingray in a fish pond to help collect them. I haven't had a monster drop one yet, but I've found 3 laying around so far and a 4 that was destroyed with an explosion. I forget what they're called, but those helmeted guys will destroy them if they're within range when they explode, you can also assume your own bombs will do the same, so it's possible you inadvertently broke a few.

I had the same issue when I first started to go into the volcano on my new save. I went in everyday for like a week and didn't find a single one. I didn't even see any bones for them to spawn at, and the lava creature didn't drop any when I killed them either. Then one day I went in there and found 6. Over the next several days I would find 2-3. So I guess it is just crappy RNG you are having right now.

18 from the lava creature, 2 from the bones. I'd recommend searching for lava goons.

That's another part of the problem: the stingray now wants a dragon tooth (before it gets to the state where it produces them) and I just can't find any. As the lavafrogs aren't on Gil's list I don't know how many i killed so far, but it's easily around 100+ now... and not a single tooth.

I'm starting to think I got a seed without dragon tooth in it >_>

Played the new content on an old save and the drop rate for that item seems to be annoyingly low.

I built a stingray fish pond for the same reason as you but it is a bad investment. Not only does it require 1 dragon tooth to accomodate more than 5 fish but the growth rate for those fish is low. And when they finally fill the pond - you can fill it with more fish later - the drop rate is still very slow. I think I get 1 dragon tooth per season.

The only somewhat reliable source I found was the volcano dungeon where you can find a dragon tooth on some levels lying in the middle of a dragon skeleton.

To do the volcano dungeon runs, choose days with very good luck, eat a spicy eel [you can buy it from the desert trader for 1 ruby each] and drink a triple shot espresso. Then change the settings of the game so you zoom out to the 75% value, now you can see more of the map so you can rush through the dungeon without too many mistakes. Ignore the enemies and just run. If you can find the new trinket staff that regularly shoots ice beams at your enemies that helps a ton.

Good luck.

try killing fire breathing lava swimming creatures with burglar ring equiped, also the book monster compendium can invrease the loot from kills. Got 3 from 1 kill that way.
I tried all of that. By sheer luck I found one (1) tooth at a skeleton now, but that's it. a whole month of near daily runs later and that's it (not counting holidays).

I think I got a really cursed seed
