Meteorite loot

Has there been a change made to the loot received from cracking open a meteorite? I have just opened one up and found a prismatic shard. I'm sure I've never seen that before.

I'm obviously happy about that, it is mid fall of Year 1, and my current sword is only level 5.

Other than the earlier 1.6.3 update, not aware of any other changes to it.

That seems strange.

The pre 1.6 wiki comment is: 'They drop 6 Iridium Ore, 6 Stone, and 2 Geodes'. No mention of prismatic shards and they couldn't have been at 100% before the update anyway or I would have seen one.

Anyone else cracked a meteorite since 1.6?

You're right, it wasn't 100% before, but the chance of prismatic shard drops was reduced in several places in 1.6, not that it makes THAT much of a difference in the long run.

That 1.6.3 comment implies that the prismatic shard chance was set to 100% in the 1.6 update, then reduced to 25% in 1.6.3. However, there is no mention of it at all in the 1.6 changelog.

I was in fact still on 1.6 when I got my shard so I might have just slipped between the cracks!

Regardless, I am very impressed both with the scope of the 1.6 changes and the quick response to any perceived problems with it.

At least you got your Meteorite. I had the message "An explosion was heard in the night...", but no Meteorite appeared on my farm.

It will be there. Go to options and tab down to your camera. Take a photo and open the destination folder. That should show it.
