Night fishing are:

Bream - Caught in the river in town, any weather, any season, between 6pm-2am any night.

Eel - Caught in the ocean, needs to be raining, Spring/Fall, between 4pm-2am.

Walleye - Caught in the river in town or the mountain lake, Fall/Winter, Between 12pm-2am.

Catfish - Caught in the river in town, needs to be raining, Spring/Fall, between 6am-12am.

Red Cabbage can either be found from the Travelling Merchant, dropped by the serpents in Skull Cavern (The seeds can be dropped), or brought Summer year 2 from Pierre.

Anything else?

The game is designed to be played for as long as you want, you don't really need to rush anything. The only mechanic in the game encouraging you to play fast is Grandpa's shrine, but even the shrine has a mechanic to allow you to reset and get evaluated again.

I like looking things up on the wiki when I am lost, because I do not have a ton of patience for figuring out obscure things on my own (like the schedules for villagers or the locations of certain fish). The game has so much content that you won't be reducing your playtime much if you get stuck and need help from the wiki sometimes

In addition to what was posted above, other "problem items"...

Nautilus Shell: Demetrius can send you one in the mail (that is chosen upon opening the letter, so save scumming works). Otherwise, found on the beach during Winter. Note it is *NOT* the artifact that you can dig up anytime, you want the orange one that is found laying loose on the beach. Also rarely sold on the Travelling Cart Merchant. It's best not to skip it.

Wheat: I usually mention this just to remind people that when you go to turn in the animal fodder bundle, you need 10 of the same quality. Doesn't matter what quality but it has to be 10 of the same. Really wish CA would give us some way to lower quality on something to allow for stacking.

This was changed a while ago, you can turn in 10 of any quality. I just plant 10 wheat and hand it all in to the bundle. It was either in 1.5, or one of the patches after it.

The quality thing was fixed. I turned in 2 different qualities of wheat on my new play through with no issue.

In addition to the already great advice the others have given, I would recommend using the official SV wiki. The player base for this game is absolutely enormous, and as a result, the wiki is extremely detailed, constantly updated, and very accurate.

Every time I open the game I've also got 5-10 different SV wiki pages loaded up in my web browser.

I recommend Look up everything mod. That ease somewhat the problem of turning on wiki webpages.

the stardew valley wiki is really helpful as a few others recommended! you can find just about anything you need on there.

the item for the community center that took me longest to get was the fiddlehead fern -- if you find it in the traveling cart, grab it, because you might not unlock the secret woods until your second year. good luck!

The good news is fiddleheads are now significantly more common because entire "fiddlehead trees" show up during green rains, and I think a green rain is hardcoded for the first summer now

Ahh, I somehow missed that memo.

But then, I didn't play a huge amount during 1.5+. I started a beach farm, but as I was nearing the end of getting the CC done on that playthrough, I got distracted by other games coming out and I finally started playing again after 1.6.

That's awesome that they finally fixed that. That was always so annoying.

If you select "able to get community center in the first year" and haunt the traveling cart at every opportunity (friday/sundays and events) you can pick up a lot of the harder to get items from her. You can also get some of the fish from regularly going through the trashcans.

that would work, Especially the fish since i found great stuff in there like a scorpion carp, (that doesn't sound that great when you think about it, but i was exited)
