What's your favorite (and least favorite) part of the 1.6 update?
I recently got back into Stardew Valley because of the update. I usually play on Switch (I have hundreds of hours on the Switch version!), but was so excited for 1.6 that I started playing on PC for the first time so I didn't have to wait for the update to come to console.

I have been absolutely loving it so far! Some of my favorite updates include:
- New pets, being able to have multiple pets, hats on pets, and pets giving you gifts
- Meadowlands Farm
- Fishing tourneys (especially SquidFest!)
- NPC winter outfits
- Trinkets

The only thing I don't love is the fact that ancient seeds aren't sold at the traveling cart anymore.

What's your favorite part of the update?

the green rain was an interesting addition, I have collected a lot of moss but have not used much of it yet.
Still in summer so have not seen everything yet, but I like all the mystery boxes and the skill books.

my favorite is the new farm and new events. i absolutely love meadowlands farm

my least favorite part is how the trees around the map are always tinted green because they have moss on them, i just don't like how it looks

Fish stuff is nice - bait makers / deluxe bait /deluxe bait working on crab pots / fish smoker and fish smoker applying bonus from artisan :)

Still working toward masteries.

I like Lewis' Prize Machine mechanic, masteries and books, dislike Trout Derby.

just hit the tree with your sword to remove the moss, you dont need to chop them down, then It takes a long time for moss to reappear.

Favorites: the frog trinket animation when it helps you in the mines (was not expecting that, lol) and the new fishing bobbers (the rubber ducky and the joja can are my favorites). The desert festival is also a nice addition.

Least favorite: The hissing sound of bombs has been turned down (I can't easily tell when I've placed them) and the length of time I have to wait between each of the raccoon quests.

Overall, 1.6 has been a really nice update.

least favorite is that i have to wait a very long time before i can play this game on my Nindendo Switch. i like to play cozy games in bed sometimes. and cant really take my whole monitor screen in bed sadly. i do have stardew valley also on pc so i can play the update sort of, but i prever small handheld.

i like the whole update!
- green grass, on the meadow, is so pretty on the land. not everything need to look like dirt.
- prize machiene for early rewards.
- surprise boxes falling from the sky!!
- new skills and books falling out of trees with cool abilities.
- fish smoker, lures, differend color dobbers
- new crops!!
- more pets!
- can finally move my house

what is not to like about the update? i can only name 2 things.
- fruit bat cave also needs a buff,
- console update late :steamsad:

I totally feel you! I played exclusively on Switch until 1.6 came out and I got too impatient so now I'm playing on PC lol. I agree that the fruit bat cave deserves a buff since the mushroom cave got the dehydrator! I always pick fruit bats because I think they're cute :brownchicken:

Seasonal Seed farming:
Before 1.6, I would plant Winter seeds on my farm to keep the money flowing (and to reach a personal goal of obtaining 999 of each winter forage in gold quality in storage), but now the quality system for farmed seasonal forage seems to be gone.
