If you mean a wedding ring (not trying to split hairs - just in case you want to look on the wiki) then you can make one as fast as you can get the recipe and the materials. The materials are a prismatic shard and 5 iridium bars. It's theoretically possible to get lucky in the regular mines, but it's unlikely. And if you could get all that in the regular mines, it might be a waste to use it on a ring and gf might be disappointed :)

So for the iridium you're probably going to need to mine in skull caverns. That means you've gotten to the bottom of the regular mines and also gotten the bus working through the vault bundle at the community center. All that means money - the bundle is 42,500 gold by itself. If you're going to go into the skull cavern, then you're going to have to have a good weapon (which, again, would arguably be a better use of your first prismatic shard than a wedding ring.)

Overall, it's a non-trivial goal. I'd guess you're probably in year 2. Rather than rush, I'd suggest you enjoy the ride, and craft the ring when it's sensible for you. If you're determined to push for it, then your objectives are:

1. Get to the bottom of the regular mines to get the skull key
2. Get enough money to do the Vault Bundle at the community center
3. Save your omni-geodes to buy desert totems from the vendor when you're in the desert
4. Push down into the skull caverns to get the iridium you need

The prismatic shard is, as far as I know, a luck thing. I suggest checking the wiki for possible sources. But to me, the best use of your first prismatic shard is using it between the pylons in the desert to get a galaxy sword which is very powerful But it's your game, so play it your way.

probably take your save over to the stardew valley predictor and determine which item is going to give you a prismatic shard, either omni geodes, or mystery boxes.

legitamately, I can think of a number of reliable ways but require more lategame approach.

if we aren't speed running yeah, get your skills to 10, unlock ginger island. unlock the desert.

make 10 or more (I have 44 crystalariums with jade) and buy staircases, and descend to floor 150-300 and get prismatic shards from the iridium geodes.

alternatively plant trees, farm moss. use that moss to build a statue of blessings and hunt down the prismatic butterfly, I think that gives a prismatic gem.

alternatively moss farm and then build treasure totems and use them on ginger island for a stupid amount of omni geodes which we can break and get prismatic shards eventually.
