Chests Missing?

So I can have multiple chests that are missing their icons in the menus. It's just a blank/invisible visual tile. They still function properly and everything, but there's no visual to it at all. It's mostly noticeable with stone chests.

i have multiple mods installed, so there's no doubt in my head it's something to do with one of those, but all my research has pulled up no one else having this issue. All my mods, according to SMAPI are up to date except custom music and the game runs fine despite this.

There's always the good old modding binary search, disable half your mods and see if the problem goes away. Temporarily remove the mods that *aren't* causing the issue. Repeat.

i removed all the mods a few at a time, started up my game, and checked on the error, but nothing changed.

It continues even if you remove them all then?

yes. i just verified all game files, going to start a new game with mods and one without to see if that did anything

The mod 'chest anywhere' has a setting for individual chest to show invisible.
Might check if you accidentally enabled that for those missing chests

Yes!! Upload it somewhere and then link it back here so we can see it. It's not a promise we'll be able to diagnose it, but the answer MIGHT be there and that would make it quicker for everybody to solve. =)

So real quick -- I recommend uninstalling, *deleting the folder* entirely, and then reinstalling, as a next step for the troubleshooting process (backup save first!). Verifying and/or just uninstalling does not delete everything associated with mods.

but before you do that, smapi log. don't want to nuke from orbit unless we gotta.

are you using Vortex, or another mod manager? Did you install mods manually?
