The Deconstructor doesn't like numbers..

I just bought the Deconstructor from Qi's Room to "re-use" a lot of things I don't use anymore.

Especially for the packs of Quality Fertilizers and whose returned ingredients will serve me for the superior quality.
The Stardew Valley wiki does indicate that it's possible to place the Quality Fertilizer in the Deconstructor but in the game... It was impossible to put it there.
No error messages, no pop-ups.

At first, I thought it was because I hadn't made them myself, won via Mystery Boxes, Ticket prices, etc. So I made some and tried with this one. Not working again.

So I tested the basic fertilizer and it works. I pushed the test with other objects (Seeds, Wood fence, Seed Maker, etc) and just understood that all objects made in several copies (like Iron Fence or Crystal Path), do not pass in the Deconstructor, even if I only present one copy of them.

Do you have the same problem as me? Is this a bug? Because if i take my examples, Iron Fences and Crystal Paths are not in the list.
The wiki rarely gets it wrong.. well i don't know.

If i've seen right, I think it's not fair for thoses objects :( just because they were made in multiple copy, they're craftable so reusable, don't you think?

it doesn't work, regardless if its fair or not.

though I suppose it should take 5 of them to undo the craft like it takes 10 piece of wood to make a piece of coal, just feed 10 in. but it didn't get coded that way.

its coded to just not work. never considered fairness. its not like a complain an anvil can't make a clay pot. it just doesn't.

there are mods to reskin your cattle as the single females so you can milk them.
there are mods turn the game into a battle royale.

unless its the community accepted 'unofficial patch' something like would be included in stardew valley expanded, I'm not sure 'there are mods' are really valid.

Thanks for your answers, however I feel some sort of tension behind your words?
This post was not intended to complain about any anvil that want to be clay pot ;) I'm just trying to understand if it was just me or general.

Especially when the wiki, which I believe I understand is powered by the community and the ConcernedApe staff, says one thing and the game another.

That said, "fairness" may not be the right term to use in this situation but rather accuracy or relevance? I understand that it's a matter of code but anyway, if a mod allows me to uncraft theses objects, I'll take it please :)

I'm just trying to stay in the spirit of the game in a gentle way.

Yeah I have no idea what it means for a mod to be 'valid' or 'invalid', I'm just saying if you want the ability to recycle 5 paths into one quartz or maybe one path into a 20% chance of quartz you do have the option at least on PC.

Bamboolu, check out Better Crafting, which makes crafting better in general (category tabs, more chests per workbench, bulk crafting, one click storage) and has an optional recycle bin that works the way you're looking for. https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/11115

I just tried Better Crafting and indeed it is very complete, i'll try to use it wisely, thank you very much!
It's just a shame to have a useless Deconstructor as soon as it arrives :p it will be useful for my miss-clicks and the items it can officially take! If Ionly I could put flowers on top, it would be a perfect grumpy flower pot.

Not really sure what you're trying to say here but Stardew Valley Expanded is in no way a 'community accepted unofficial stardew valley patch'. It's a poor fanfiction that serves a certain sort of gamer.

If we discuss words, not sure "poor" can describe Stradew Valley Expanded. I never tried it (and certainly never will) but i think it's a mod with lot of work behind, a mod, that's all.

I'd rather have my Deconstructor pot deconstruct everything I've built than put a mod on top of it but hey, maybe ConcernedApe and his staff will hear me whine and let me get that tree juice out of my basic fertilizers :') haha!

In the meantime, Better Crafting does (do?) the job without excess "cheating".

'Poor' definitely describes some aspects of the mod, such as the writing, the new NPCs, the overpowered items, the design decisions ..
